About
Applied Economic History website covers the details on the projects that we are doing with the support of TUBITAK and other institutions, and are mainly related to the risks posed by political events on the markets, the consequences of reforms, and migration in Ottoman Empire. Thanks to these projects, we collect data on historical rare events and provide policy recommendations. In addition, we examine comprehensive, comparative and data-based issues that are not under focus of the previous historical and economic literature. These issues are so important for today world economy and society as financial inefficiencies, wars, institutional changes and migration are still important today. Also, we could provide additional and helpful solution for such problems without the worrying about bias.
